A Scandinavian-inspired bench with a minimalist aesthetic

Strong Scandinavian accents inhabit the Travis bench, designed by the English interior architect Jakob Hartel for our brand.
The very light aesthetics of the Travis bench allow it to integrate discreetly into all types of decorations. His Scandinavian inspiration matches with the beech wood of which he is made, both giving rise to a piece at once minimalist and warm. We suggested a two-tone version with a teak seat.
"I was first inspired by how bones develop, especially around joints," says Jakob Hartel. I try to create furniture with silent characters, aesthetics is more a result than a goal in the process. Travis does not present a categorical style, it is a rather versatile and visually light piece, like a nice cat" he says.
Its dimensions of 115 cm in length, 42 cm in depth and 39 cm in height make it a small piece that fits perfectly in a hallway, an entrance, a bedroom but also in the living room.
Movement, light and time are the main inspirations of Jakob Hartel. Thus, his creations are balanced between sense of detail and simplicity. Graduate from l’Ecole Camondo, he opened his own studio in 2008 under the ethos of creating furniture and silent interiors.
