Residence: a collection of exceptional seating

Originally designed for the reorganization of the artists' studios of the Ministère de la Culture at the Cité Internationale des Arts, the Residence seating created by designer Jean Couvreur has been reworked for our edition. The chairs, armchairs and bar stools have a simple and structured structure, with particular attention to detail.
"The intention of this project was to rationalize this object as much as possible. The goal was to create a structure that was simplified to the extreme, robust and compact, while maintaining the comfort of a restaurant seat with its thick and generous cushions, "explains Jean Couvreur. "I've serached for inspiration in stage and show equipment shops, because I found there solid, practical, efficient, simple and essential equipment. I saw a pure graphic line that I applied to my objects, "he continues.
The collection has dimensions adapted to all types of interiors, whether it is a living room or a kitchen counter. The real novelty of this collection lies in the launch of bar stools: " The idea was to sit as comfortably in height as on a standard size chair, "says the designer.
Jean Couvreur is a designer scenographer, graduated from ENSCI in 2006. His studio is centered on the design of products and space, with a work focused on the material and the local know-how. The studio tries to reveal the essence of the objects around us through a simple and basic drawing.
